摘要

We have been interested for somc time in the condensation of cyclohexaneacetic acid with aromatic aldehydes as the simplest approach to the synthesis of a-cyclohexylcinnaniic acid and its derivatives. As far as could be determined from a survey of the literature, cyc1oa: l: ylacetic acids have apparently not been used in the Perkin reaction.
