(Method A). The preparation of these ketones was effected either by reacting an acid chloride with diethyl-t Part VI1 of the series, Chemistry of Adamantane. For part VI. see ref I ethoxymagnesium malonate and subsequent hydrolysis and decarboxylation as described in our earlier paper3 or by the reaction of an acid with MeLi.
