Summary Cyclohexene is isomerized over pure alumina at 470450 to methylcyclopentene-1 and-2. Methylcyclohexene-1 is isomerized over pure alumina to 1, 2-dimethyl-and ethyl- cyclopentenes as indicated in formulas V to VIII, inclusive.
