Biological Activity

[Description]:

2-Keto-D-galactose (D-Galactosone) inhibits DNA synthesis, and inhibits proliferation of in vitro grown Ehrlich ascites tumor cells[1].

Signaling Pathways >> Cell Cycle/DNA Damage >> DNA/RNA Synthesis

[Target]

DNA synthesis[1]

[In Vitro]

2 mM 2-Keto-D-galactose (Galactosone) causes a comparable inhibition of DNA synthesis. Proliferation of in vitro grown Ehrlich ascites tumor cells is completely inhibited by 1-2 mM 2-Keto-D-galactose without severely affecting viability (dye exclusion test); no phase-specific arrest of cell growth is observed[1].
