在配有电动搅拌器、温度计和回流冷凝器的500ml三口瓶中，加入55g季戊四醇（0.40mol）、200g 40%氢溴酸溶液（1.0mol）和一定量的冰醋酸。开动搅拌器，缓慢加热，在回流温度下反应6～8h。反应结束后，减压脱除水和未反应的溴化氢，然后加入300ml等体积的甲苯和水的混合物进行搅拌处理3h。过滤，用热水重结晶，并加活性碳脱色。过滤、真空干燥，即得成品84.7g，收率（以季戊四醇计）为80.8%。
