Sultiame (Sulthiame) is a sulphonamide, and it may exerts antiepileptic activity by producing a modest intracellular acidosis in central neurons via acting as a carbonic anhydrase inhibitor, thereby reducing the frequency of action potentials and epileptiform bursts[1].
