Biological Activity

[Description]:

Substance P(1-4) is a potent neurokinin receptors (NK-R) antagonist. Substance P(1-4) has regulation of normal hematopoiesis and inhibits endogenous erythroid colony (EEC) formation[1].

[In Vitro]

Substance P(1-4) (0.1 nM-1 μM) inhibits endogenous erythroid colony (EEC) formation in PV bone marrow cultures[1]. Substance P(1-4) (0.1 nM-1 μM; CD36+/GpA- cells) decreases of erythroid colony numbers of 47% and inhibits proliferation of PV CD36+/GpA- cells of 30 %[1]. Cell Viability Assay[1] Cell Line: PV CD36+/GpA- cells Concentration: 0.1 nM-1 μM Incubation Time: 2 days Result: Inhibited proliferation of PV CD36+/GpA- cells of 30 %. Apoptosis Analysis[1] Cell Line: PV CD36+/GpA- cells Concentration: 10 nM Incubation Time: 2 days Result: Increased the percentage of cell death of 27.3%.
