Human Endogenous Metabolite

[In Vitro]

2-Arachidonylglycerol (2-AG) is a cannabinoid ligand isolated from intestinal tissue. 2-Arachidonoylglycerol activates neuronal cannabinoid receptors as a full agonist, and prevents the induction of long-term potentiation at CA3-CA1 synapses. 2-Arachidonoylglycerol binds to cannabinoid receptors and exerts several effects typical of cannabinoid drugs[1].
