Biological Activity

[Description]:

Ozarelix (D-63153) is a GnRH antagonist. Ozarelix induces cell apoptosis and arrests cell in G2/M phase. Ozarelix can be used in the research of prostate cancer[1].

[In Vitro]

Ozarelix (0-20 ng/mL, 72 h) inhibits PC3 and DU145 cell proliferation[1]. Ozarelix (0-20 ng/mL, 72 h) induces apoptosis in PC3 and DU145 cells[1]. Ozarelix (20 ng/mL, 72 h) triggers caspase 8-dependent caspase 3 activation[1]. Cell Proliferation Assay[1] Cell Line: Serum-starved PC3 and DU145 cells Concentration: 0, 5, 10, 20 ng/mL Incubation Time: 0, 24, 48, 72, 96 h Result: Inhibited cell proliferation in a dose and time-dependent manner. Western Blot Analysis[1] Cell Line: PC3 and DU145 cells Concentration: 0, 5, 10, 20 ng/mL Incubation Time: 72 h Result: Increased the levels of p21 and p27 both in PC3 and DU145 cells. Decreased levels of anti-apoptotic proteins such as Bcl2 and Bcl-Xl. Upregulated Erk and p38MAPK activity.
