Biological Activity

[Description]:

Methyl maslinate is a β-adrenergic antagonist. Methyl maslinate is a potent cardiotonic and antidysrhythmic agent. Methyl maslinate has the potential for hypertension research[1].

[In Vivo]

Methyl maslinate (MM) (20-60 mg/kg; i.p.) shows significant, dose-dependent vasodepressor effect and sinus bradycardia, lasting more than 60 minutes with a maximum at 20 minutes, and shows potent hymodynamic effect[1]. Methyl maslinate (40 mg/kg) shows antidysrhythmic activity on ischemia-reperfusion dysrhythmia[1]. Animal Model: Wistar male rats (300-320 g)[1] Dosage: 20-60 mg/kg Administration: Intraperitoneal injection; once Result: Showed significant, dose-response vasodepressor effect and sinus bradicardia. Antagonized β-Adrenergic. Showed antidysrhythmic activity.
