[Description]:

A potent, CNS-active Glucosylceramide synthase (GCS) inhibitor with IC50 of 27 nM; inhibits GlcCer production in whole wild-type MDCKII cells with IC50 of 15.3 nM, has little to no apparent recognition by MDR1; significantly and dose-dependently decreases brain glucosylceramide content after intraperitoneal administration in mice.
