A highly potent, selective, orally active renin inhibitor with IC50 of 2.1 nM in hPRA assay; displays excellent selectivity against other aspartic proteases, such as pepsin and cathepsin D (IC50>10 uM); exhibits a dramatically improved PK profile in rats, and long-lasting antihypertensive efficacy in vivo.
