Abstract
The requisite halides, 6a and 6b, were obtained by treatment of 1-cyclopropyl-1-ethanol with bromine/triphenylphosphine in dimethylformamide or hexachloroacetonel triphenylphosphine, respectively, by methods we have previously rep~ rted.~ The reaction of 6 with organocuprates was found to be facile and produced good yields of substitution products.
