Abstract
Certain phenazine 5, lO-dioxides are known to have antibacterial activity. Two of these, iodinin2 and myxin13s4 are microbial metabolites. Previously, compounds of this class were prepared in low yields by a multistep synthetic routes5 We now report a facile one-step synthesis of substituted phenazine 5, lO-dioxides and some related compounds.
