Abstract
In a recent communication a plan was outlid for the synthesis of aromatic arsenic compounds for biological study.'The present paper and that following it represent an attempt to apply a sknihxr method of treatment to the field of the cinchona alkaloids, whose possibilities as mterial for chemotherapeutic study in one direction have beea shown by the remarkable specifidty for the pneumococcus displayed by ethyl-hydrompreine. 2
