Abstract
Abstract Such a simple compound, and yet only now has HON (2) been prepared for the first time in a matrix at 10 K in a manner analogous to that applied many years ago for HNO (1), which is important for combustion processes, atmospheric chemistry, astrophysics, and particularly theoretical chemistry. A photoequilibrium exists in the matrix between 2 and 1.
