Abstract

A yellow chromogen, formed In the assay system for hlppuric acld which conslsts of acetic anhydrlde, pyridine, and 4-(dl-methylamlno) benzaldehyde, was Isolated, and the structure was deterrnlned to be 44 1-acetyld (1 H)-pyrldylidene)-2-phenyi-2oxazolln5-one.
