Abstract
MOORE AND WARD VOL. 27 lithium in ether at-80'to 0'gave improved yields of allenes with no evidence of isomerization. This reagent serves equally well in the formation of internal allenes, both cyclic and acyclic. It is particularly convenient since it can be stored for long periods of time and does not lead to any side products which complicate purification of the allenes. 8 In all cases, an excess of the alkyllithium reagent was added to the dibromide ...
