Abstract
We have had a long standing interest in the mctions and mechanisms of reaction of 2, 4, 6- uinitrophenyl (picryl) derivatives, including picryl ethers, with nucleophiles.* 2 It has been suggested that picryl ethers are best prepared by reaction of the appropriate alcohol with picryl fluoride, in the presence of 1, 4-diazabicyclo [2.2. 2] octane, as catalyst?
