Abstract
OH OH (1) in arsphenamine is due to the action of the hydrosulfite or of the impurities present in commercial samples. When the reduction was carried out under the conditions favoring the formation of relatively toxic products with high sulfur content, the results were in fair agreement with those obtained using commercial hydrosulfite (Table I).
