Abstract [MoH 4 (dppe) 2](1)(dppe= Ph 2 PCH 2 CH 2 PPh 2 reacted photochemically with allylic esters and carbonates, RCO 2 CH 2 CH CH 2, to give seven-coordinate hydridocarboxylato complexes,[MoH (O 2 CR)(dppe) 2](2), together with H 2 and propene.
