Abstract
Abstract An enzyme catalysing ring-methyl hydroxylation of the substituted phenylurea herbicide chlortoluron was detected in isolated microsomes from germinating maize. Chlortoluron hydroxylation was absolutely dependent on NADPH and molecular oxygen.
