Abstract
Several sulfides and sulfones and one sulfoxide bearing a carboxymethyl or a cyanomethyl substituent were prepared, in some cases by improved procedures. The infrared and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra of these compounds were obtained and indicated the absence of enolization or hydrogen bonding.
