Abstract

Several representativc. alkyl halides haw been condcrwd with sodium saccharin and the resulting 1, I, 8-trioxn-L'-alh~ lbenzo [dlisothiazolines (la-f) desulfurized using Rariey nickel. Eniploying conimon desulfurization methods, the reduction reaction was found to give cyclohexylcarboxamides (eg, IV) and under very mild conditions, benzamides (Va-e).
