Abstract
Abstract Direct conversion of alkoxytrimethylsilanes to alkyl benzenesulfonates was accomplished in one step by treatment with benzenesulfonyl fluoride and catalytic amounts of tetraethylammonium fluoride. The reaction proceeded best when the alkoxy group carried electron-withdrawing groups such as F or CN. Allyloxytrimethylsilane was smoothly converted to allyl benzenesulfonate. Unsubstituted alkyl groups gave lower conversions. ...
