Abstract

PChloro-3-methyl-, 5-chloro-Zmethyl-, and 6-chloro-2-methylindole-3-acetic acids have been synthesized via the Relormatsky reaction applied to the appropriate chloro-substituted derivatives of 1-acetyl-2-methylindoxyl. The Fischer indole synthesis applied to ethyl
