Abstract

Halodeboronation of organotrifluoroborates using commercially available tetrabutylammonium tribromide (TBATB) or cesium triiodide in aqueous medium is reported. The mild, transition metal-free method has proven to be tolerant of a wide range of functional groups. High regio-and chemoselectivity are observed.
