Abstract
Results Oxidation of 6 or 7 by Harvey's methods gave a complex mixture of products, especially in the case of 7 in which mono-or polydesilylation accompanied the formation of acenaphthylene, acenaphthene, dihydro-or tetrahydroacenaphthene skeletons. In contrast, when oxidation was effected with 2, 3-dichloro-5, 6-dicyano-p-benzoquinone
