Abstract
We report on a scrub typhus patient who contracted meningoencephalitis during doxycycline administration. This is the first case of scrub typhus in which doxycycline concentrations were measured in serum and cerebrospinal fluid. Clinicians should be alerted to the possibility that meningoencephalitis can occur because of inadequate maintenance of serum doxycycline level caused by antacids administered along with doxycycline.Copyright © 2011 Elsevier Inc.
