Abstract

Pinelliae had been used for treatment of insomnia since ancients in Chinese. Sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsant effects of ethanol fraction of Rhizoma Pinelliae Praeparatum were evaluated. The extract demonstrated sedative, hypnotic and anticonvulsant activities which may be related to the GABAergic system.
