Abstract
(85%)(7.5%) no tetralin from attempted sulfuric acid catalyzed cyclodehydration of l-phenyl-l- pentanol. lC More recently, in a study of the action of phosphorus pentoxide on a series of P- alkylstyrenes at elevated temperatures, Dumontet3 found that 1-phenyl-1-pentene gave 46% of a saturated isomer with characteristics “le font assimiler au phenylcyclopentane”.
