Abstract

NB-cyanethylglycinel* in 10 ml. of water was saturated with nitrous fumes (from dilute sulfuric acid and sodium nitrite) at room temperature. The course of the reaction was followed by diluting a drop of the solution with acetone at intervals until the absence of a precipitate or turbidity indicated that nitrosation was complete.
