Abstract

In the second step, the ease of displacement appears to be: OSO2C6H4Br (p)> OS0&6H6> I> OSOZCSH&H3 (p). Other effects found in these experiments were: dimethyl sulfoxide is less effective than dimethylformamide. A sufficient amount of water is necessary to dissolve jn part the sodium cyanide. Ethanol in a sealed tube is less effective than dimethylformamide as a solvent.
