Abstract: The kinetics of the irreversible reaction of 0-, rn-, and p-methyl-and-trifluoromethyl- substituted N-phenyl-a-bromoacetamides with a-chymotrypsin have been studied at pH 6.0. Dissociation constants for the initially formed enzyme-inhibitor complexes have been determined or estimated and rate constants for reaction of these complexes to give inhibited proteins have been obtained.
