Abstract
The most commonly used synthetic methods to manipulate sulfonamides involve the nucleophilic attack by ammonia, or primary or secondary amines, with sulfonyl chlorides in the presence of a base. Although this method is efficient, it requires the availability of sulfonyl chlorides, some of which are hard to prepare and difficult to store or handle.
