Abstract. 53 Donor-acceptor substituted azo dyes of the benzene series were prepared by diazonium-coupling reactions (la-8) or halogen-cyanide exchange ( i 2a--9, 3a-j). Described are the preparation of the amines 4 am and the coupling compounds 6a-t and the procednre of diazotizing and coupling.
