Abstract
Attention was called at that time to the slow introduction of the fourth R group with some sterically hindered radicals in the RLi compounds. Actually we have since observed that under conventional experimental conditions only three isopropyl groups are introduced in the reaction of isopropyllithium with silicon tetrachloride or ethyl orthosilicate to give tri- isopropylsilyl chloride and tri-isopropylethoxysilane, respectively.
