Abstract
Thermal decomposition reactions of N-alkyl-2-aminobiphenyls were investigated by passing vapors of the aromatic amines over calcium oxide at 450 C–600 C. The procedure afforded a method for the preparation of carbazole (69%) and phenanthridine (92%)[1].
