Abstract

Abstract Hagemann's esters can be converted into highly functionalized phenols or arenes. The systematic functionalization of Hagemann's ester derivatives permits the preparation of tri-and tetraalkylsubstituted phenols or tetra-, penta-, and hexaalkyl-substituted benzenes.
