Abstract
Functionalized styrenes are valuable building blocks for the synthesis of pharmaceutically active compounds,[1] fine chemicals,[2] and polymers.[3] Classically, styrenes are accessed by elimination reactions, carbonyl alkenylation (by using phosphorus-, silicon-, or titanium- based reagents), or the partial reduction of terminal alkynes.[4] Contemporary methods [5] for the synthesis of functionalized styrenes include transition-metal-catalyzed cross- ...
