Abstract
Abstract Treatment of benzylidene aniline, having phenyl and polyfluorophenyl substituents at carbon and nitrogen of the azomethine group, with peracids gave products of azomethine bond cleavage. Oxidation of polyfluorinated compounds of the type C 6 F 5 CH NC 6 F 4 X- 4 (X= H, F, CH 3, OCH 3) with acetic peracid gave stable peroxides of α-(polyfluoroanilido)- 2, 3, 4, 5, 6-pentafluorobenzyl as the final products.
