Abstract

11 variable amounts of trimers4 4 and 5 (4: 5 approximately 1O: l). Contrary to what might be expected from more than 100 years of unsuccessful attempts to prepare monomeric aliphatic thioaldehydes,'the pink color of l persists in CHC13, C6H6, CH2C12, ether, etc., for as long as 16 h at 20" C!
