Abstract

I n connection with a study of the synthesis of benzoxazines from polyhydric phenol^,^,^ it was found that condensation of hydroquinone with formaldehyde and primary amines led to bis-rather than mono-1, 3-benzoxazines when the molar ratio of the reactants was that required for the latter or even in the presence of a tenfold excess of hydroquinone.
