Abstract
High temperature reaction of a mixture of trichloroethylene aiid trichlorosilane gives predominately P, P-dichlorovinyltrichlorosilane instead of cy, 8-dichloroviiiyltrichlorosilane previously reported.@-Chloroethyltrichlorosilane is much more reactive upon pyrolysis and also when treated with quinoline than is a-chloroethyltrichlorosilane, and gives mainly silicon tetrachloride and viiiyltrichlorosilane.
