Abstract

Highlights ► AIRE induces apoptosis in epithelial cells. ► CARD domain of AIRE is sufficient for apoptosis induction. ► AIRE induced apoptosis involves GAPDH translocation to the nuclei. ► Deprenyl inhibits AIRE induced apoptosis.
