Abstract
Initially, our studies began with the reaction between iodobenzene and elemental sulphur powder in the presence of CuCl 2 as a catalyst, Cs 2 CO 3 as a base, and (nBu) 4 NF as a phase transfer reagent, and water as a reaction medium at 100 °C. The desired product was obtained in only 10% yield (Table 1, entry 1).
