Abstract

Ii/for this hydrocarbon. Noyes and Derick'have given experimental evidithce in favor of the formula proposed by Eijkman. They oxidized laurolene, and obtained an active diketone. The only formula for laurolene-an active body itself-consistent with this behavior on oxidation is that proposed by Eij kman.
