Abstract

Reduction of the triphosphazane chloride C6H4N2 [P (S)(NEt2) 2] 2PCl with BH3⊙ THF or LiBH4 yields the borane-coordinated hydride C6H4N2 [P (S)(NEt2) 2] 2PH (BH3)(I). I yields the free hydride upon removal of BH3 by tertiary amine coordination. More interestingly, its reactions with (norbornadiene) Mo (CO) 4 or Mo (CO) 6 yield complexes which involve Mo (CO) x group coordination to the central phosphorus atom and also to the peripheral PS ...
