Abstract

The preparation of a new aluminum reagent, dmiethylaluminum methaneselenolate (Me2AlSeMe) is described. The reactivity of this aluminum reagent toward a variety of organic substrates has been studied. Me2AlSeMe will convert O-alkyl esters to selenoesters in high yield.
