Abstract
Abstract A study has been made of the photochemical and thermal reactions of ethyl azidoformate with four aromatic compounds selected to provide a ride range of electron distribution and reactivity. Examples of substitution, addition, and insertion reactions have been observed and the nature and yields of products under different conditions are discussed in relation to the mechanisms proposed for these reactions.
